Winners of the 2012 Big Pilton Quiz - The Professionals.

The Big Pilton Quiz is back for its third year on 11th May 2013.  With a beautiful carved wooden trophy in the shape of a question mark, the Quiz is expected to attract a lot of teams.  In the first two years it sold out with twenty teams of six people and in 2012 it was won by The Professionals (left).  The same price again of only £5 per person includes a light supper — just bring your own drink.  And don’t be deterred if you haven’t got a team.  You can join one on the night.

Tickets are available from Cobley’s Newsagent (only open until 1pm) or from Carol Haddrill on 01271 372416.  It will help the organisers if you can buy them before the night so they can get the food right.

The aim as before is to raise money to make the Hall an even better community space than it already is.

The cast take the final curtain in the sparkling 2013 Pilton Panto 'Cinderella' in the Green Man

The Pilton Panto came back in  2013 after missing a year with a sparkling production of CINDERELLA in The Green Man Inn from 22nd to 26th January.  Both adults and children were welcomed to what was, as usual, a brilliant traditional village event.  What’s more it had returned to its earlier stomping ground, the Green Man Inn (formerly known as The Chichester Arms) after an absence of several years.

Sellout performances and a great raffle response meant that it was able to raise money for Pilton Festival as well as Pilton Church Hall and the North Devon Hospice.  Over the years it has raised tens of thousands of pounds, always for good local causes.  We will publish the figure for 2013 as soon as it is available.
