These adverts show the businesses in Pilton who were trading in 1982. They were placed in the paper just before the end of the first Pilton Festival which ran from 24th June to 25th July 1982 The businesses advertising include Pilton Cabinet Works, Dawn Frost Antiques, Clarke Welding Supplies, The Post Office, Northgate Printing Works, Pilton Stores, The Reform Inn, Phillip Cobley, R and M Cobley, Sue’s Hairdressing, C J Bonner, Berry and Sons, Aycliffe Press Ltd, Cashmores, Kirkhams, Ace Motors, Chichester Arms. Many of these have ceased trading but a few still remain today including The Reform Inn, The Chichester Arms, now The Green Man, Sue’s Hairdressing now Shampers, Kirkham Tyres, and R. and M. Cobley the Newsagent.
