This is a sketch of Bradiford Bridge from the west side, thought to be by Samuel Prout and dated at early 19th century.  It shows some of the cottages on the southern side of Bradiford.

Samuel Prout was a British watercolourist, born in Plymouth in 1783, and one of the masters of watercolour architectural painting. He was Painter in Water-Colours in Ordinary to King George IV in 1829 and afterwards to Queen Victoria. While his primary connection is to Plymouth, significant collections of his original sketchbooks and personal materials were historically held at the North Devon Atheneum in Barnstaple.
