Most people will remember Heather Dwyer as Mrs Pilton Stores, in particular for her home-baked Carrot Cakes and Lemon Cakes, and her friendly smile. But for her family she was much more; she held everything together at Pilton Stores.
She was married to Geoff for nearly 57 years, Mother to Sara, Grannie to Chloe and Aimee and Great Grannie to Freddie. She idolised the children and her regret was that she missed meeting her second Great Grandchild George; she tried so hard to be in that photo but it wasn’t to be.
She was a great fan of Green Man Day and was part of the Pilton Festival committee for many years, involved with the stall layout in Pilton Street. She was seen every year selling savoury and sweet delights outside Pilton Stores, which she and Geoff ran together for 23 years until they retired in January 2013.
