In June 2024, Pilton Theatre Productions debuted at the Barnstaple Fringe Theatrefest with three performances of a 60 minute comic presentation ‘Mumm’s the Word’. Written and directed by Lee Smith, multiple sketches drew on the Green Man’s journey through Pilton and Barnstaple history. We were introduced to many comic, and a few not so comic, characters and situations along the way – from Saxons to Saki (HH Munro), and Highwaymen to Huguenots.
A preview performance was held outside Pilton Infants’s School, Abbey Road, Pilton, and the cast and crew then transferred to Castle Green, behind Barnstaple Library, for the weekend of 28th, 29th and 30th June for three, 60 minute long, performances. It did not rain and several £100 were raised for the Pilton Green Man CIO!
